About your team
Group Operations performs most of the Bank's support and fulfilment functions and is one of three key Enterprise Services business areas responsible for the Running of services. We have more than 4,000 employees working across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. For more information refer to CommNet.

Role
The Business Systems Analyst will drive tactical automation solutions across MO to support the delivery of the ES, GO and MO strategies to build a scalable business through simplification, standardisation, and automation of our processes.

Key Responsibilities
Core people management responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
  • Using your analytical skills, you will liaise with other MO teams to gather their business requirements
  • Using your programming skills you will build the tactical solution from those requirements primarily using Microsoft Excel and/or Access Database software
  • You will investigate and resolve tactical solution issues such as but not limited to Microsoft Excel Macro errors, Access Database errors and HP UFT Scripting errors
  • Identifying, driving, proposing and delivering continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Identifying and assessing the risks which could prevent you from achieving the objectives of your role
  • Provide advice to the Manager, Business Systems Automation on major cross business initiatives that requires integration with existing MO databases/scripts
  • Assist with establishing business rules, maintaining documentation of data and reporting protocols for the management of databases, including policies and procedures, data integrity, data extraction and analysis
  • Effectively building, influencing and proactively managing stakeholder (internal and external) relationships to design, and develop solutions that support the business outcomes and deliver to the group standards
  • Providing advice, and insights on the latest technology trends that relate to desktop automation, and process improvement
  • Be recognised as a technology expert and be the reference point for databases/scripts/other technologies
  • Assisting with projects that relate to compliance upgrades and/or software releases that impact MO
Key Skills
  • Sound programming skills in Microsoft Excel, Access or other related technical discipline
  • Sound analytical skills to investigate and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft Excel, Access Database applications
  • Ability to work autonomously and deploy time management skills
  • Strong customer service, stakeholder management and negotiating skills
  • Experience working in technology, preferably in the finance industry
