Position Summary
 
The Accounting Control Group Associate is responsible for timely and accurate delivery of the general ledger related reporting on a frequency determined by the service level agreement (SLA) with the client. The position also requires accurate and professional resolution of all internal and external accounting queries in an accurate and timely manner. The analyst is also expected to provide technical input and operational support on accounting related processing and projects including new product development.
 
Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities: 

  • Manage virtual team to ensure accurate and timely workflow delivery.

  • Establish and maintain SGL workflow and control framework

  • Liaise with Production Management for workflow failure

  • Review exceptions report and close out any exceptions

  • Create and post journal entries e.g. permanent reclassifications due to change in GL group

  • Liaise or escalate to the relevant teams for incorrect processing

  • Update incorrect soft GL rules and reconciliation

Qualifications/Experience: 




  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related discipline,


  • CA / CPA qualifications (or part qualified)


  • Minimum of five year’s experience in Fund Accounting and/or Financial Accounting


  • Strong systems and technical knowledge of HiPortfolio (or asset management system)


  • Excellent working knowledge of financial markets and instruments, both domestic and international.


  • Strong PC skills in particular Excel


  • Awareness of risk and control environment with high quality standards
