The role:

Reporting to the General Manager, Compliance, you will enjoy supporting the Virgin Money Australia business by providing compliance advice to relevant stakeholders in order to deliver an effective compliance framework and ensure that legal and regulatory obligations are met.
You will be responsible for providing advice on the requirements and application of legislation, codes, standards and licensing, including, but not limited to; the Corporations Act, National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-terrorism Financing Act and Rules, Prudential Standards and the Banking Code of Practice.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders, promoting a positive compliance culture

  • Formulate and update compliance frameworks, policies and procedures in light of the latest regulatory requirements and market practices

  • Review and conduct assessments on compliance incidents

  • Provide advice to relevant stakeholders on all aspects of the relevant legal and regulatory obligations

  • Conduct supervision and monitoring on implementation of the Virgin Money Australia compliance program

  • Ensure effective management of ongoing compliance risks and issues relevant to Virgin Money's product range, including conducting appropriate risk assessments on new product offerings

About you:

As a commercially astute individual, you will have previous experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry, with exposure across a range of portfolios such as digital, third party distribution and retail products. Further, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the Australian regulatory and legal environment, staying informed of changing requirements.

You are differentiated from your peers, due to your clear understanding of the impact of legal and compliance risk management decisions on overall business, complimented by your expert knowledge of the relevant Acts and Regulations. Naturally, you will demonstrate a professional approach at all times, be able to communicate strongly and openly to both individuals and groups, think outside the square and have exceptional problem solving skills.
