Strategic Intent

The Consumer Bank Operational Risk and Controls Manager (Retail Bank) will help the business deliver the banks operational risk framework and maintain a strong control focus across retail distribution and support functions. 

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will work with the business in running, and continuously enhancing the retail bank and support functions. The control program is built on the following key responsibilities and activities:
  • Risk Identification, Analysis, and Management
  • Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) Coordination
  • Issue and Corrective Action Plan (CAP) Coordination
  • Assist in Audits, Reviews and Regulatory Examination Management
  • Assist in delivering 'Deep Dive' Reviews


Qualifications

Key Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor Degree or related certification/ qualification in Risk/ Control/Compliance
  • An understanding of Compliance policies
  • A strong track record of delivery in a Controls based role
  • Detailed understanding of Retail Banking and Wealth Management products and related process domains (Deposits, Mortgages, Investments and Insurance)
  • Strong organisational and communication and negotiation skills
  • Conceptual reasoning and complex problem solving
  • Ability to effectively multi task under pressure and in a high paced environment
  • Ability to lead stakeholders/colleagues and work as part of a team, with strong influencing skills
