The Merchant Product Management Team, as part of Merchant Solutions is responsible for the development and optimisation of our online and card present solutions that deliver payment products and services to our clients. The key objective of the team is to deliver transformative technology, innovative solutions and connectivity with reliability and safety.

Do Work That Matters
The purpose of the Executive Manager, Product Management role is to oversee strategic direction of the end to end product offering within the Merchant Solutions portfolio. The role will have carriage for all merchant acquiring products including eCommerce and in store payments. The role will manage the entire product P&L working with key stakeholders assisting the Bank in growing its market share and revenue base. This will be achieved through innovation and the ability to shape and drive industry specific solutions for our customers while interfacing with our key business partners across the Bank.

More specifically you will:
  • Strategy and Business Planning - Assist, as part of the Leadership Team, in the definition and development of the strategic vision for Merchant Solutions. Translate the vision into goals and specific business unit plans for Product Management.
  • Development and execution of the overarching product strategy in line with the business and customer objectives
  • End to end ownership of the product management cycle which includes market / industry analysis, competitor analysis, portfolio management, product development, marketing, sales & channel support, product compliance and policy & process enhancement.
  • Intimate understanding of market trends and client demand to instigate changes to product strategies and tactics to deliver increased profitable market share and sustainable business growth
  • Drive superior execution of the agreed product strategy and initiatives
  • Actively identify opportunities for the organization as technology evolves and customer needs change
  • Evaluate the performance of products and distribution channels on a regular basis and benchmark to market / industry trends
  • Risk management across the for entire product portfolio
  • Build and maintain productive and effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels (i.e. segments, support offices, risk, legal, compliance, finance, etc.)
  • Proactively work with key stakeholders across each of the channels to improve penetration and retention of the products, to achieve profitable growth and to increase market share
  • Drive continuous improvement and productivity initiatives to improve customer experience and positively impact the bottom line
  • Protect the Bank's reputation and represents the bank at internal and external forums as senior leader
  • Create a high performing team culture and develop amazing people, successors and build talent pipeline
  • Portfolio Management- Provide oversight and track the portfolio of projects and programs across Merchant Solutions. Prioritisation of key projects/initiatives and ensure that progress and cost control is being achieved for all portfolio/ project budgets
  • Governance - Ensure all key Product governance frameworks and processes are properly set up and managed.
  • Management Reporting - This role will work with various Finance teams to ensure that all required reporting is in place.
  • Ensure business change is fully integrated into the project delivery cycle and we minimise and transparently manage impacts on clients and other teams

  • 10+ years experience in leadership position driving business outcomes
  • Superior stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience in business negotiations, working with many groups to achieve goals
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
  • Strong numerical and conceptual analytical skills and the ability to quickly identify fundamental economic and business issues
  • Results oriented, and motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and be successful
  • Understanding of industry dynamics, risks, trends and regulatory environment.
  • Experienced people manager with sound leadership skills

  • Excellent oral and communication skills
