A little about the role
Based in Sydney and working as part of a national Claims team, you will manage claims from initial notification through to finalisation. You will support Members, Risk Account Managers, third parties and service providers while ensuring each claim is handled promptly, fairly and in line with the relevant Protection terms and company procedures.
You will review documentation, set and adjust reserves, appoint assessors, investigators and other service providers, process claim payments and take recovery action where appropriate. You will also keep Members and relevant parties informed, support complaints in line with internal dispute resolution requirements, and refer higher-value, discretionary, declined or questionable claims to the Claims Team Leader.
This full-time role offers the opportunity to apply your claims experience, judgement and service focus to help control claims costs, progress complex matters and deliver consistent outcomes for Members across Australia.

What you'll bring

What's essential
- Previous claims experience, with the ability to manage claims from initial advice through to finalisation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the judgement to make prompt and fair decisions.
- A high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- The initiative to work with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a national team.
- A strong service orientation and the ability to maintain positive relationships with Members, colleagues and external parties.
