Operations Consultant, Senior Associate
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an Operations Specialist reporting to the local Operations Manager to be part of a team that supports multiple products within the region. Your responsibilities will include trade management, confirmation matching, cash and security reconciliation, collateral management and the liaison between counterparties, brokers, borrowers and clients. Client service focus is paramount and involves both internal and external client groups.

What you will be responsible for
As Operations Consultant you will
  • Oversee offshore activities for SF Operations and Collateral Management Operations, acting as an escalation point
  • Ensure all transactions have been correctly processed. Identify and refer any discrepancies and work with front office for resolution
  • Monitor the complete transaction process from dealer input of the Loan to the settlement of the return. Ensure all trades are being processed and settled in a timely manner and prior to market deadlines
  • Investigate any incoming unmatched trades, and ensure timely resolution
  • Prepare (if required) SWIFT payments for internal and external clients ensuring compliance with the client's settlement requirements. Ensure payments are made and internal nostros reconciled
  • Processing of daily mark-to-market processes ensuring full collateralisation of all accounts, reconciliation of internal accounts. Both for cash and non cash collateral.
  • Ensure all internal procedures and controls are adhered to, with a full understanding of corporate risk policy and standard operating procedures
  • Respond promptly to client (internal / external) concerns, needs and requests

  • Ability to operate effectively under stressful situations while meeting very tight deadlines is essential.
  • Understanding of operational risk, as well as global market nuances is preferred.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to support change and new initiatives within SSGM (both locally / globally)
  • Display an ability to take on tasks without instruction
  • Knowledge of FX, Securities Finance, IM, Custody or clearing operations
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on client service

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience within banking operations environment
  • 2-4 years of business/technical experience
  • Knowledge of FX, Securities Finance, IM, Custody or clearing operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products generally
