Corpay Sydney, AustraliaRegulatory Compliance Manager
Your role
What you'll be doing
What We Need
Corpay Cross Border is a leading provider of international payments and foreign exchange solutions, supporting corporate clients operating across global markets. Our Australian business operates under an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and, as we continue to grow across the APAC region, we're looking for an experienced Regulatory Compliance Manager to strengthen our regulatory framework across Australia and Singapore.
This is a senior, hands-on advisory role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of financial-services regulation and turning it into practical, workable controls. You will be a trusted compliance partner to our business, product, operations and risk teams helping us grow responsibly in a fast-moving cross-border payments and FX environment. You will provide technical regulatory leadership across ASIC and MAS requirements, with particular focus on cross-border payments, foreign exchange products, client money, licensing and financial-services conduct. You will interpret new obligations, identify gaps, shape implementation plans and help ensure our regulatory frameworks remain fit for purpose as the business evolves. This role reports directly to Head of Regulatory Compliance.
This is an opportunity to have meaningful influence in a growing, internationally connected business. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, contribute to commercially important product and expansion decisions, and build regulatory solutions that protect customers and enable responsible growth. If you are a technically strong, commercially pragmatic compliance professional who is comfortable operating with pace and ambiguity, we would love to hear from you.
How We Work
As the Regulatory Compliance Manager, you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:
- Assigned workspace in the Sydney office
- Company-issued equipment
Role Responsibilities
There are four key areas of focus:
Regulatory advice and interpretation
- Act as the subject-matter expert for relevant MAS and ASIC regulatory requirements, including the Payment Services Act, Securities and Futures Act, AML/CFT Notices, Technology Risk Management Guidelines, AFSL obligations, the Corporations Act, DDO and the Australian AML/CTF regime.
- Give clear, practical regulatory advice to business, product, operations and risk stakeholders.
- Assess the impact of new and changing regulatory requirements, enforcement trends and industry developments.
- Prepare gap analyses and pragmatic implementation plans.
Frameworks and governance
- Maintain and enhance compliance frameworks across our Australian and Singapore entities.
- Draft and update policies, procedures and regulatory obligations registers.
- Support high-quality reporting to senior management and Boards on regulatory risks, issues and progress.
Product and change advisory
- Review new and evolving FX and payments propositions, including spot FX, forwards, options and payment solutions.
- Advise on licensing-perimeter questions, conduct obligations, disclosures and client-classification considerations.
- Lead or support regulatory impact assessments for product, system and process change.
Regulatory engagement, monitoring and assurance
- Support engagement with MAS and ASIC, including queries, thematic reviews, inspections, submissions and-where applicable-breach notifications.
- Design or enhance compliance monitoring programmes and support second-line reviews and thematic testing.
- Identify control weaknesses, influence stakeholders and help drive timely, sustainable remediation.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least five years' regulatory compliance experience in cross-border payments, FX/derivatives, fintech, a non-bank financial institution, or a bank with international payments exposure.
- Deep, working knowledge of MAS requirements, particularly the Payment Services Act, relevant AML/CFT Notices and the Securities and Futures Act.
- Strong knowledge of the ASIC AFSL regime, Corporations Act and Australian AML/CTF obligations.
- A proven ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational frameworks, controls, policies and procedures.
- Experience supporting regulatory engagement, responding to regulatory reviews or preparing submissions.
- Excellent regulatory writing, policy-drafting, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
- The confidence to work independently, make sound risk-based judgements and explain complex issues clearly to non-specialists.
It would be great if you also have
- Technical understanding of FX derivatives and the ability to analyse an FX portfolio.
- Experience across both Australia and Singapore, and ideally familiarity with the New Zealand FMA regime.
- A legal, risk or audit background, or qualifications such as CAMS, a law degree or a compliance certification.
