Our Corporate Banking business is currently recruiting for a Relationship Manager (RM) to be based in Sydney,  with the specific on-going management and development of the Financial Institution Group's (FIG) client base. 

The clients that the Australian FIG team cover and service include Australian banks, Australian subsidiaries of foreign banks, insurance companies, fund managers and broker dealers. Our bankers act as the primary contact point through which our clients access Citi's capabilities.

This role will provide the opportunity to develop integrated financing strategies for the client and orchestrate the delivery of relevant parts of Citi's coverage and product platform.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Support the coverage and management of the Big Four Australian Banks
  • Assume primary coverage responsibility for a mix of Insurance companies, Fund Managers and Broker Dealers
  • Relationship managing in-flow FI clients.  These names are generally Australian subsidiaries of global financial institutions clients or clients with AUD accounts. Servicing these clients will involve active relationship management locally as well as some direct contact with the parent offshore offices.  Emphasis in this part of the role is on TTS and Markets based products.
  • Assist in the completion of the Know Your Customer processes
  • Manage administrative issues relating to FI clients, including working with Parent Account Managers (PAMs) to ensure that credit lines are properly allocated for local names and resolving documentation and due diligence issues - "delivering the global network"
  • Assist in preparation of account plans and briefing notes
  • Act as "back-up" to other FI RMs in their absence
  • Prepare briefing memos/agendas for client meetings
  • Research and prepare business development/marketing information across existing and prospective client base and industry sectors 
  • Research, contribute to credit submissions plus prepare credit submissions for Episodic transactions
  • Respond to miscellaneous customer enquires, including managing internal departments to address customer service issues.
  • Documentation follow up with client on outstanding issues - ie. support for offshore subsidiaries, HRR letters, ISDAs etc
  • Account profitability modelling and monitoring, e.g. Return on Risk Capital (RORC) calculations and Red Zone
Key skills and experiences required:
  • Corporate and/or Institutional Credit analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of Corporate and Investment Banking products (eg. Transaction banking, financial markets, investment banking, debt, credit related products).
  • Understanding of top-tier FI clients
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to complete within tight deadlines
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong sense of personal accountability
  • Ability to work well within a team to ensure that the team meets its objectives


  • Tertiary qualifications within a financial / business discipline preferred
  • Previous experience within banking environment in a role with exposure to external clients and credit processes
