Security Manager - Red Team
Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Do you love gaining unauthorized access, bypassing controls, subverting processes, and helping other people understand what your hacking means for them? Are you good at finding credentials and using those credentials to get more credentials? We're looking for a Red Team Manager to lead our existing red team and drive security improvement throughout Atlassian.

As the Red Team Manager you will manage a small team and own the offensive security and adversary emulation program. You will lead others on a path that illuminates the true state of Atlassian's security, while also exemplifying compassion and empathy for teams you impact. You will respectfully challenge the status quo to push the state of security forward.

Your responsibilities will include setting objectives, researching adversaries, planning & executing operations, and helping the team be successful. You will work closely with the security intelligence team to help them measure and improve Atlassian's detection and incident response capabilities.

More about our team

We are a growing security team committed to protecting the security of our customers and of Atlassian itself. You will be part of the security intelligence group whose mission is limit the duration and impact of security incidents. We are a distributed bunch that values outcomes over outputs, supports each other and helps everyone be more effective.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
  • 3+ years working in a red team or penetration testing role
  • 1+ years experience leading teams or large projects
  • Technical mastery of common exploitation techniques, privilege escalation, pivoting, or persistence
  • Proven ability to communicate operational outcomes and drive change as a result
  • Passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal skills
  • Affinity for growing teams and helping people succeed
It's great, but not required, if you have:
  • Contributions to open source security or penetration testing tools
  • Delivered industry presentations
  • Experience building red team infrastructure and automation
  • Experience operating in AWS, with containerization solutions
