Position Description

Senior research analyst role to lead coverage of the Australian banking sector as part of an integrated Australian financials research team. This role sits within the Research team of Global Banking and Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create anticipatory and insightful investment recommendations based on company, industry and other data sources
  • Support clients in their investment decision making through thought-provoking research content, phone/email communications and face to face marketing
  • Conduct proprietary research and analysis to evaluate underlying industry and company specific trends
  • Maintain and manage financial models necessary to support company and sector financial forecasts
  • Work with the corporate access team to devise, plan and execute value-add corporate access events that compliment coverage of the banking and wider financials sector
  • Contribute to the firm's cross-sector and cross-border collaborative research content and other product efforts

Key Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills plus excellent analytical capabilities
  • Ideally 10 years or more of relevant experience in buy/sell side research, consulting or banking
  • Experience and understanding of the banking industry including regulatory environment, macro-economic drivers and other key earnings drivers
  • Relevant qualifications, such as CFA, CA or MBA will be viewed favorably but are not a must have
