Amazon Connect is looking for a Manager of Systems Development to lead our Sydney team to innovate on the telecom infrastructure that is fundamental to modern contact centers in the cloud. Amazon Connect supports thousands of concurrent customer calls and tens of thousands of agents using an internally developed SIP based Call Center Platform. Our technology is compelling, as it solves a common problem in a novel way - and it is unique in the industry. Responsibilities include direct management of systems development and telecom engineers, process and quality of service improvements, strategic planning, project management for software within the team, and management of resources across teams. You will be playing a crucial role in developing the next generation telecom infrastructure, and get the opportunity to design and deliver scalable, resilient systems while maintaining a constant customer focus.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 3+ years people management experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
• Experience with professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
• Experience taking projects from scoping requirements through launch of the project.
• Experience in applying open-source technologies.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies like scrum.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
• A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects
• Experience working as part of a global team.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
