Job Purpose:

Business Management is structured across 5 clearly defined pillars to support the establishment of a Group-wide Business Management support framework.

  • The incumbent is always expected to assume responsibility and accountability for one of the above streams and aid colleagues responsible for other streams to enable appropriate unit cover and support. As part of the Business Management team, the incumbent will help establish a strong and robust 1st line of defence across the GT&FM, ensuring that controls, processes and operating environment are in full adherence to the approved Front Office Standards, Policies and Procedures (P&P). Additionally, strengthening the control environment by supporting in the design and deployment of Risk Control Self-Assessments and KRIs for example across the GT&FM network
  • As part of the wider Business Management team, ensuring GT&FM’s systems and infrastructure are fit for purpose to execute on business strategy as articulated in the IT Roadmap, and through extensive coordination with support functions/vendors to deliver an effective and flexible operational environment.
  • Providing the necessary support to further enhance the product, portfolio and risk intelligence across the Financial Markets areas, with higher quality MI reporting to GT&FM management.
  • Provide back-up and assistance to the operational, documentation and product management areas of Business Management


Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:


  • Depending on role specifics, when there is a need, draft, implement, roll out and continuous monitoring of Front Office Operating Standards, Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure regular iteration via adoption of best practices across all geographies.
  • In coordination with colleagues, manage the process of gap analysis and remediation initiatives on Standards, policies and procedures in order to create uniform and structure across all geographies.
  • Ensure alignment of support functions (Risk, Credit, Operations, IT, etc.) to facilitate on the GT&FM agenda.
  • Documentation management for all Treasury products (GMRA, ISDA, CSA, Asset Management Agreements) 
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with ARC units ensuring GT&FM is ahead of the curve.
  • Ensure constant, clear communication, dissemination and management of information across GT&FM where applicable.

Operational Effectiveness

  • Booking of periodic P&L, dividend received Capital changes which impact Head Office’s positions, in the front office system.
  • Monitoring Head Office funding position (Cash & FX) through the Head Office Cash flow and Treasury funding.
  • Assist in maintaining ABC’s repository of Custody Accounts, Approved Products and Approved Brokers. Monitoring and reporting daily RXM and P&L reports to the relevant Stakeholders.

Performance Management

  • Along with the team, participate and support the annual budget planning and allocation process.
  • Be an active participant and support lever in the unit’s management and oversight of vendor/supplier, direct, and indirect cost attributable to GT&FM across geographies and management of those external partner relationships.
  • With the team, ensure robust KRIs and KPIs for each business across all geographies are in place and monitored.
  • Ensure full participation in the team’s regular liaison with Group credit on credit-related issues by.

Strategy, Product Development and Management

  • As part of the wider Business Management team, assisting Group and local support functions in implementing the framework for a client-focused strategy as well as other business initiatives across the GT&FM network and challenges faced therein.
  • Be an active Business Management Project resource where applicable and required, for all GT&FM Enterprise-wide initiatives (Technology and business-related).

Business Risk Control

  • Along with the team, proactively track the closure and oversight of regulatory, internal audit and MSII identification of issues across all geographies and ensuring the progress updates are input into the GRC tool.
  • Actively participate in Business Management’s internal event reviews and analysis, root causes and adequacy of actions to address control weaknesses and to ensure the event is escalated to the appropriate senior management
  • Assist in the delivery of continuous monitoring activities including testing, Quality Assurance and Thematic Reviews.

Technology & Data Management

  • Along with members of the team, be responsible and accountable for Business Management’s efforts in drafting, managing and implementation of a remedial exercise across all geographies on the utilization and capabilities of existing IT portfolio of assets in order to create a uniform, standardized trading/ Sales booking process through platforms that will enable the implementation of a “follow the sun” client service strategy by GT&FM Group-wide.

Risk,  Compliance & Business Continuity:

At all times, act with due care, skill and diligence to ensure compliance with Bank ABC’s risk culture, policies and procedures, Code of Conduct and Values.

Escalate risk and compliance issues in a timely manner to your line manager, and ensure that all mandatory training is completed to schedule.

Participate in exercises to rehearse the banks response to an emergency situation (i.e. evacuation exercises and Business Continuity tests)


Job Requirements:

Education / Certifications


  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant Treasury experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Treasury activities.



  • Background in Finance or Accounting. Understanding of Treasury and Treasury products and structures
  • Understanding of Investment and Operational Risk Management techniques.
  • Ability to easily work with technical systems for management information. Advance spreadsheet proficiency, including the ability to learn reporting tools available to Treasury and participate in the review/ evaluation of any new software being introduced, in order to verify continuance or added value.

  • Knowledge of and ability to work with technical systems and quickly become proficient in the software listed below and currently in use at ABC:
  • The Front office trading systems (Kondor+/Fenics/ Reuters/ Bloomberg/alongside other front office platforms, etc.).
  • The core banking system (URBIS/ABMIT).
