Are you looking for a role as a (Associate) Project Manager who will be highly involved in preparing for and delivering the customer promise, by contributing to the retail transformation within ING BE?

The position will be situated within the Center of Expertise Distribution. The purpose of the CoE Distribution is to optimize sales performances across segments by:

  • Best leveraging physical footprint
  • Monitoring independent network
  • Organizing local presence
  • Being responsible for "face of ING" in each region
  • Facilitating client acquisition and cross-buy between segments
The scope of responsibility for this function includes the design and implementation of transformation initiatives within ING BE retail.
Your key responsibilities
The (associate) project manager will provide project management support for retail transformation initiatives, as part of the overall ING transformation. This will involve project management tasks (including all planning activities, risk and issues management, monitoring and co-ordination tasks) as well as supporting project delivery (hands-on taking on the development and delivery of project tasks, decision-taking at operational team level, formulating recommendations for tactical and strategic decision making, ...)
The (associate) project manager's prime responsibility is to ensure that the assigned workstream(s) within the retail transformation are implemented within time and quality constraint. To achieve this objective, the (associate) project manager will both actively contribute to the program implementation tasks at hand, as well as coordinate the relevant project (and other) teams working on (or contributing to) the assigned workstream(s).
Specifically, this includes amongst others within a general tactical framework or within a strategic framework:
Solution design, advice and implementation
  • Challenge the validity of the given procedures, processes, policies and systems and advise the stakeholders in the identification, justification and design/development of the requisite solutions,
  • Provide advice on the improvement and transformation initiatives by means of collecting data, analyzing the data, activities and hypotheses and providing input and recommendations to support the decision-making process.
  • Formulate and test hypotheses and draw conclusions in order to determine appropriate solutions

    Project management
  • Take responsibility for interim and final deliverables of the assigned workstream according to roadmap
  • Manage all relevant aspects of the project workstream from scope, planning & development, scheduling, timetable & allocation of resources to dependencies, risks and issues managing
  • Track and coordinate the various workstream tasks, activities and ceromonies in the workstream a in order to deliver as agreed; report on and safeguard progress according to plan
  • Manage and lead the project team of the assigned workstream, also ensuring maximum efficiency in the allocation of resources within the project
  • Monitor and ensure solutions are implemented adequately, to achieve planned outcomes, including active contribution where relevant and required
  • Guarantee the quality and sustainability of deliverables

    Issue/risk/change management
  • Draw up and implement the risk management plan
  • Resolve, mitigate or escalate risks, problems and significant changes
  • Identify and manage the dependencies concerned, within and outside of the assigned workstream(s), including with other projects where relevant

    Change management and communication
  • Inspire and motivate the stakeholders and project members in order to achieve a shared objective
  • Define and present the ultimate solution and its impact on the organization, provide arguments for the choice of solution

    And you should have as well:
  • A Master degree;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a full-time role in a project management environment, including experience in a project management role
  • A natural reflex to continuously link and challenge daily actions and decisions with the impact it will create for our clients
  • Affinity with Retail Banking is a plus
  • Affinity with strategic programs in general and/or Accelerating Think-Forward in specific is a plus
  • A strong sense of responsibility, driving for output and demonstrating resilience
  • A sense for initiative and making things happen, with an eye for details
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to make complex things easy and able to communicate effectively both centrally and decentrally via the various appropriate channels
  • Proven influencing skills and excellence in stakeholder management
  • Thorough knowledge of English, Dutch and French.
