My client is a growing international Funds and Asset Management company. Headquartered in Luxembourg, they are seeking a Senior Fund Accountant for their Brussels branch. Due to the continued growth and the upcoming launch of new funds, my client is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant with experience in illiquid assets, preferably Private Equity to join their growing team.

The Fund Administration team is in charge of producing various financial reporting pertaining to the Funds under management including:

  • Monthly performance reporting 
  • Budgeting / forecasting 
  • AIFMD reporting to regulator
  • CSSF reporting to regulator 
  • Tax reporting
  • Yearly audited financial statements 

Reporting to the Head of Fund Accounting & Head of Fund Administration, the Senior Fund Accountant's main Duties & Responsibilities will include: 

  • Review quarterly financial statements received from underlying investments and process accounting entries accordingly
  • Review and validation of capital calls and distributions notices (ensuring compliance with agreements in terms of investment concentration, management fees calculation, carried interest calculation)
  • Perform calls and distributions entries in Investran 
  • Periodic update of investments activities in the fund reporting
  • Participate in period-end portfolio reconciliations (cost/FMV/Management fees etc…)
  • Participate in preparation of periodic financial reporting to financial regulator and to the shareholder
  • Participate in the preparation of the year-end annual report and assist with auditors requests 
  • Ad-hoc analysis on an as needed basis (budget, forecasts, general expenses reporting and analysis)

Key Requirements:

  • University degree in a finance/accounting/business management
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in accounting, controlling, audit (big four preferred)
  • Able to manage A to Z accounting process (from booking entries to producing financial statements) or willingness to learn 
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Experience in the Private Equity / Fund industry is a plus
  • Good attention to detail and presentation of information
  • Strong knowledge / willingness to develop knowledge of general accounting rules
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills
  • Able to work independently while being a teamplayer
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in MS Excel required
  • Knowledge of FIS-Investran is a desirable not essential
