Application Support Specialist - Trading Technology

A leading proprietary trading firm is seeking an Application Support Specialist to support mission-critical trading platforms and data workflows. This role combines production support, troubleshooting, deployment, and automation work within a fast-paced environment where technology directly impacts trading performance.

• 3-5 years of experience in application support, production engineering, or software development
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, multicast)
• Experience supporting applications in Linux and/or Windows environments
• Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web technologies
• Experience using browser developer tools, DOM inspection, and web troubleshooting techniques
• Ability to build and troubleshoot Regex patterns, work with JSON/JSONPath, and integrate with APIs
• Exposure to Docker containers
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a real-time production environment

• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Experience supporting financial markets or trading applications
• Familiarity with Ansible, Chef, or similar automation tools
• Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, or comparable monitoring platforms
• Exposure to web automation, data extraction, or scraping tools

• Provide production support for trading and market data applications
• Monitor systems and proactively identify operational issues
• Deploy, configure, and maintain software across production environments
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and networking issues in real time
• Develop and maintain automation and data extraction tools utilizing HTML parsing, APIs, Regex, and JSON-based workflows
• Partner with engineering and trading teams to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency

This is an hybrid position requiring 4 days per week of in person work in the firms Montreal office.
