Department Overview

TD Testing and Quality Engineering (QE) covers a specialized area dedicated to high-quality application and solution delivery. Similar to industry trends, TD's definition of this area of discipline (as well as skill and knowledge requirements) has changed over time. One thing hasn't changed \u2013 experts in this area remain highly-marketable across businesses. Some of our testing activities may focus on system integration, business acceptance, performance, operability and deployment verification. Quality Assurance activities, in contrast, give stakeholders information about product or service quality while allowing the business to appreciate and understand any implementation risks. Many of our Test Engineers could be involved in end-to-end delivery of testing, or more focused on a specific discipline.

Your Tasks:
  • Define and maintain the End to End Test Automation roadmap/strategy for a large regulatory program
  • Define and govern the Automation Operating Model including the interaction model for optimal delivery across various Agile delivery PODs spanning multiple lines of business
  • Acts as a conduit into and out of QE automation teams both across the Regulatory programs but also spanning into the rest of Portfolio
  • Create an automation driven test strategy, define what test cases can be automatable and work in executing this plan leveraging tools such as Jenkins, Java and Selenium
  • Lead various QA projects supporting multiple technology and platforms across middle tier, front end web applications and backend Host/mainframe based legacy systems
  • Work with technology and business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify resourcing requirements, provide estimates, and monitor QA budget (actual/forecast) for Test Automation
  • Build trust and partnership among the team, peer group and effectively drive synergies across departments to ensure optimal utilizations and best use of talent
  • Continuous Improvement \u2013 identify areas to improve and expand the usage of existing automation and seeks out new automation opportunities
  • Implement QE best practices at every opportunity and ensure accurate status tracking and reporting to the overall QE Practice Lead
  • Responsible for ensuring the optimal test infrastructure (including the use of virtual assets) is defined to support automation efforts portfolio-wide
  • Work in an agile environment using tools such as Jira/Confluence to analyze, develop, debug, execute, document test cases, log defects, and help resolve them during each sprint
  • Strong expert in UI testing using Selenium framework, API Testing using Parasoft SoATest and Virtualize, BDD (Behavior driven development) using Cucumber and Scriptless automation using Tricentis Tosca framework
  • Accountable for driving implementation of new automation tools/methodology on regulatory projects e.g. BDD, Scriptless automation etc.
  • Define and maintain the overarching Automation metrics and KPIs, sets and measures goals for the automation teams
  • Understanding of the DevOps pipeline for Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing
  • Accountable for all automation related activities as part of End-to-End testing (e.g. integration, shakedown, functional testing, business acceptance, and deployment verification)
  • Champion TD's technology delivery practices, standards and project management disciplines
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise, keep current
  • Coach junior automation engineers on test automation best practices and guides them during implementation of new tools/frameworks


Your Profile:
  • Undergraduate Degree preferred in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 10\u002B years collective \u2018hands -on\u2019 experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Test Automation, or Development
  • Strong Test Leadership and Management Skills \u2013 Create program level strategies, test plans and strong process and quality background \u2013 Test metrics, knowledge management, people management, dashboards/ reporting
  • Knowledge and working experience of Automation frameworks
  • Strong UI and API automation skills, and strong Java knowledge
  • Exposed to Agile and Rapid delivery methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence, ALM etc.
  • Ability to build consensus with business partners and mediate when appropriate
  • Strong communication, analytical, critical thinking, organizational and planning skills
  • Detail oriented, can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Readiness to challenge the status quo
