Job Description

The Development Manager \u2013 IOS Payment and platform, will lead a talented team of IOS development professionals and will be accountable for all technical design and development activities for payment capabilities and platform capabilities within the top ranked financial services Mobile app in Canada. This is a technology leadership role, and the candidate must be a subject matter expert in IOS development. The role will report into the Senior Manager \u2013 iOS Development.


\u2022 University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
\u2022 3-5 years of experience leading small to medium sized IOS development team; expert level knowledge of IOS development
\u2022 Experience with mobile payments and transactions and related technologies: NFC SIM, SEM, SP-TSM, OTA, Cloud, Tokenization, Mobile Security
\u2022 Experience with certification processes (Visa, VTS, Mastercard, MDES, EMV, PCI)
\u2022 SME level with iOS native development and Apple apps ecosystem- iOS/Xcode/Swift
\u2022 Highly motivated individual, with demonstrated outstanding people management, leadership and coaching skills
\u2022 Sound understanding of: Java EE, Web Services/SOA, REST, HTML5, JavaScript and related frameworks and technologies would be an asset
\u2022 Strong coach and developer of people with a demonstrated track record in talent management
\u2022 Highly motivated individual, with demonstrated outstanding people management, leadership and coaching skills
\u2022 Must be able to work with a pool of experts and ensure high levels of service even when the effort crosses organizational boundaries.
\u2022 Thrives in a fast paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and priorities
\u2022 Excellent customer service orientation and a professional approach; including ability to interact with all levels within the organization
\u2022 Experience with secure coding practices, user interface design, object modeling
\u2022 Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written and presentation skills

Additional Information

Accountabilities include:

\u2022 Develop and execute development plans, and manage application development schedules, resource allocation and budget. This includes managing 3rd party vendors and outsourced development.
\u2022 Work with project & delivery managers to ensure successful delivery within approved schedule and budget.
\u2022 Drive overall application architectural decisions that ultimately align with the enterprise architectural vision. This includes ensuring that all application designs are well documented and communicated.
\u2022 Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review and design of the software, including technical review and analysis of source code. This includes reviews of in-house developed code, as well as review of technologies provided by 3rd party vendors.
\u2022 Work closely with business and product managers to define scope and product direction. This includes in-depth analysis of requirements, technologies and product roadmap.
\u2022 Partnering with the UX Design team to ensure that the app enables the best possible user experience for our customers
\u2022 Provide sound decision making for application development, sensitive to the constraints and needs of the business.
\u2022 Monitor technology trends for new technology opportunities that can enhance/bring innovation to the application suite
\u2022 Ensure and create as needed, application development processes to ensure a reproducible high quality development practices while adhering to allocated budget.
\u2022 Works independently and/or autonomously as a senior/ lead on a diverse range of tasks and is relied upon to coach/ educate others
\u2022 Manages and directs activities related to analysis, design and support of technical business solutions on larger projects
\u2022 Assignments are highly complex and multi-faceted
\u2022 Monitor, manage, coach/ educate a small team of IT professionals
\u2022 Provide technical support for escalated incidents/outages to ensure that they are resolved efficiently with minimal impact to stakeholders
