Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

The Senior Consultant Physical Security functions as an important member of the Corporate Security team as this position will be responsible for enhancing physical security capabilities enterprise-wide across CIBC, including its new flagship headquarters, CIBC Square.

Reporting to the Director Enterprise Physical Security, the Senior Consultant Physical Security , have the following key accountabilities:

This position will support the overall mandate of the Enterprise Physical Security group by providing expert management and support in the physical security domains. The incumbent will be responsible, as part of a team of security professionals, for the management and execution of these programs to ensure that people, information and property are protected across CIBC.

The position will carry the responsibility for leading initiatives relating to CIBC's enterprise physical security mandate and participate in the development and maintenance of programs, focusing on a risk- based approach to the global physical security of CIBC's facilities.

How You'll Succeed
  • Expert Advice and Guidance - Leads consultations with internal and external stakeholders, to develop and implement strategic plans to reduce physical security related risks. Recommends and implements solutions based on expert analysis while balancing business requirements and impact. Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Program Execution and Oversight - Ensures effective execution of the physical security standards and guidelines. Support in the delivery, development, and execution of physical security programs and procedures to minimize risk and protect CIBC's assets. Provide oversight of CIBC's physical security program, physical security architectural design, and program lifecycle management.
  • Design Reviews and Consultations - Perform reviews and provide approval of building design, equipment overlays and security equipment proposals. Consults and provides on-site support during site visits and analysis for new construction and remodels to align to CIBC's enterprise-wide standards and strategies.
  • Relationship Management - Liaise with stakeholders to support CIBC's security efforts. This will include establishing lines of communication and a network of good professional relationships. Providing advice and support to various internal stakeholders on the overall physical access program and associated administration.

Who You Are
  • You can demonstrate 3+ years of experience in the Corporate Security, Physical Security and/or Enterprise Security Risk Management field with an enterprise-wide or program management level mandate. Experience in the financial services industry would be beneficial; Experience in working on complex physical security system design projects would be advantageous; Possession of a professional designation in the security field such as ones available from ASIS International (CPP, PSP) would be beneficial.

  • This is a regular full time role with a schedule of 37.5 hours each week.
  • The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, however travel may be required and at times, on short notice in order to meet business needs.
  • The position requires you to be available to respond to incidents 24/7.
  • Prior to starting in this role, security checks, including a criminal record check must be successfully completed to the satisfaction of CIBC. An annual criminal record check may also be required
