Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

You'll contribute to CIBC's Digital transformation by successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Application Consultant within the Capital Markets Global Derivatives Technology group you'll build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience. As you lead the agile planning and strategy for the technical design, development, and integration of these applications, you'll help build the future of banking.

How You'll Succeed

  • Design & Develop: Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities: Design application's technical infrastructure and leading the design and development: specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Contribute to agile team goals by collaborating with other functions in the team, and expanding the technical capabilities of the team through continuous learning and sharing of skills and knowledge.
  • Technology Roadmap: Develop 1-3 year technology roadmaps to align with overall vision & strategy. Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities within the scrum team: develop specifications, code, test, debug, document, and adjust in order to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of programs. Design application's technical infrastructure: specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Strong Leadership: Act as the agile development team lead and interface with the project team including leading code-review sessions to ensure overall code quality aligns with business and project requirements. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving.


Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience with: 8-10 years of hands-on SW Design ( .NET 4.x, C#, Web API, MVC, ADO.NET, LINQ, Visual Studio .Net,.NET Core) ideally using SOLID Design principles. You have a deep understanding of testing practices such as TDD/automated unit testing as well as experience writing unit test cases (using tools like NUnit). You have ex tensive experience in creating rich UI and content Web-Forms, Web User Controls, Custom Control, Server Controls, Windows Service and Web Services. Good understanding of Microservices Architecture, Experience on DevOps, CI/CD pipeline. You have hands-on expertise with versioning tools like TFS (Team Foundation Server), experience in web-based page and site designs (using HTML, DHTML, CSS, Themes, Master Pages, Site Map, JavaScript and AJAX) and sound knowledge of DESIGN PATTERNS (one or more of: viz., Singleton, Factory and ASP.NET MVC). Experience working in an Agile setup. It's an Asset if: Y ou have previously supported a Capital Markets client group . You have experience working with BPM tools (Fenergo, IBM BPM etc.).
