Department Overview

The TD Wealth Shared Services ("WSS") Data & Analytics team is responsible for providing thought leadership for Wealth business through analytics and actionable insights to help drive meaningful business decisions and results. The team provides a holistic Pan-Wealth lens for revenue growth, cost reduction, risk management, customer service/product offering, investment portfolio optimization by delivering quantitative models, timely, accurate, consistent, useful and actionable information to support our businesses and leaders. The Wealth businesses include Private Wealth Management, Financial Planning, Direct Investing, TD Mutual Funds and Operations.

Job Description

The role reports to the Associate Vice-President, Wealth Data & Analytics. The Senior Manager is responsible for building and leading a complex and specialized team of professionals accountable for delivering timely, meaningful analytics solutions that drive measurable business value across the Wealth business lines. We are looking for a self-motivated and innovative individual who excels in a fast paced and high impact business team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the effort in identifying and applying various analytics solutions to support Wealth data & analytics transformation agenda;
  • Strategic partner working closely business stakeholders to provide thought-leadership to executive audiences, facilitating data-driven fact-based decisions
  • Train and guide the analytics team to design and execute suitable analytical solutions in a timely fashion to support business decisions
  • Liaise with business stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
  • Provide proactive "value-added" insights (both verbal and written) in the form of analysis, interpretation and advice to highlight further business opportunities
  • Actively contribute to enhancing the analytics team's foundational and scalable processes and best practices for data extraction, manipulation, analysis, provision of insights, and the mechanism to drive actions or decision making;
  • Be the catalyst in applying innovative analytics approaches and tools to upgrade Wealth analytics capability in order to adapt to rapidly changing business needs and customer needs;
  • Foster an environment and culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism


  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience in data, analytics and business insights in the Financial Services industry
  • Comfortable leading through transformational change and recognized as a champion for continuous improvement
  • Strong analytically-anchored problem solving skills, solid background working with data and conducting analysis or planning complex data flows and processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships, effectively interact, influence and motivate individuals at all levels of the organization to make an impact
  • Experienced people leader with demonstrated experience in identifying and growing talent
  • Superior communication skills with proven ability to communicate quantitative/ qualitative information and key messages in a clear and compelling way
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization skills and ability to effectively manage work under tight timelines and changing priorities
  • Disciplined with a proven track record of delivering results and executing with excellence
  • Understand and experienced in modern analytical solutions, e.g. machine learning, open source analytical tools, distributional processing system
  • Experience in wealth management businesses and their various products, systems, processes and applications and/or a business analysis/reporting function would be assets

  • Advanced university degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or other analytically based discipline, preferably at a Master's degree or above
  • A professional business designation (MBA, CFA, CA, etc.) is an asset

Additional Information

Technical Knowledge/Skills
  • Experienced and skilled with various analytics methodologies, such as PCA, clustering, classification tree, Regression, Gradient Boosting;
  • Experienced and skilled with various tools for data wrangling/manipulation, statistical analysis, modeling, such as SAS, Python, R, PySpark, HIVE
  • Experienced with data engineering practice and data warehouse
  • Experience in Consulting service or Wealth/Asset Management is considered an asset
  • Experience in Tableau and other visualization tools is considered an asset
  • Experience in distributional processing environment (e.g. Hadoop) is an asset
