We are helping a leading insurance company for a risk management officer to support their expanding business in China.
Manage and lead the Greater China Risk Management function to operate efficiently and effectively and is in compliant with China Insurance Regulatory Commission's (CIRC) China Risk Oriented Solvency System (C-ROSS) and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Ensure the Risk Management Function requirements of Head Office are implemented and best practices are adopted.
Closely monitor the industry and regulatory development on the risk management & compliance front and raise key aspects of risk management topics with appropriate recommendations to the attention of the direct managers and the Risk Management and Compliance Committee and the Executive Committee in a timely and adequate manner.
Identify risk concentrations, environment, social & governance relevant risk, review and ratify exceptional large, complex or risks not meeting its principles transactions or business initiatives.
Ensure that Risk Management and compliance issues/activities are coordinated and are dealt with swiftly, pragmatically and solution oriented paying due regard to the company's Principle of Proportionality of risk and that cost of controls is balanced between cost and benefits and aligned with risks and risk tolerances.
To take a strong collegiate and collaborative approach in engaging colleagues on risk management topics, duly embracing the importance of being business enabling in fulfilling the risk management mandate.
Set up appropriate risk indicators and triggers; provide risk management inputs and solution to stakeholders that balance between risk management requirements and business needs.
Lead or actively participate in internal and external regional or group wide projects (e.g. C-ROSS) to promote
Prepare SARMRA gap & prioritization analysis to identify areas where fall short of CIRC's requirements. Monitor trends and areas that should prioritize to reduce risk exposures and to achieve the SARMRA scores.
Degree or equivalent in risk management, legal, finance & accounting, actuarial or related qualification.
Experienced in Risk Management preferably in the financial sector particularly in primary or reinsurance business.
Sound knowledge of the Supervisory/Regulations of the China insruance market.
Solid analytical skills and the ability to evaluate the business and the financial aspects of issues.
Manage topics through analysis and the selection of appropriate solutions based on practice & precedent.
Self-motivated, detail minded and proactive working attitude
A skilled communicator (verbal and written) with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
Fluent (read & write) business English and Mandarin skills
