My client a leading global banking group is looking to recruit an experienced Risk Management professional to join its team in Shenzhen to become its Head of Credit Card Policy & Retail Banking Risk Management.
The Head of Credit Card Policy & Retail Banking Risk Management will play a key role in managing the credit policy for credit cards, personal loans and retail banking lending portfolios and will manage all credit decision making for acquisition and account management strategies. The incumbent will develop or influence the development of credit policies and procedures for cards, personal loans and lending portfolios so that they are both competitive and compliant with regulatory and group requirements ensuring that local credit strategies are built with a view to future economic/industry trends and not just historical performance information. The jobholder will plan, coordinate and lead the introduction of new risk management tools to support profitable business growth in the cards segment and support retail banking business growth with timely credit decisions, accurate policy execution and communication with the front office.
The successful candidate will be a degree holder with in-depth knowledge and experience of credit risk management for credit cards, personal loans and retail banking. Applicants will need to possess experience in making decisions in highly complex situations where there are potentially major consequences for the business, have an understanding of financial markets where context is highly complex, rapidly changing or unprecedented, have an excellent understanding of originations and portfolio management techniques including sophisticated analytics, credit modelling and have broad knowledge of sector trends and the regulatory environment. Candidates will need to have had experience working with auditors, regulators and compliance, have a good understanding of areas outside of risk including Collections, Product, and Finance etc. and have strong leadership skills, expertise in project management and excellent interpersonal skills. Applicants will need to be fluent in English and ideally fluency in oral and written Chinese and/or Greater China work experience.
