Investment Analyst - Paris Based


To work closely with the Investment Management Team to support with pan-European investment activities. He/she will be required to work collaboratively with other colleagues based in Paris and other offices in Europe.


  • To assist with the initial screening of new investment opportunities, using financial modelling on XL and Argus, providing advice and recommendations to the Investments Team on opportunities to be pursued.
  • To perform market research, through communicating with key parties including external agents, the M&G Real Estate Property Research and Investments Teams, in relation to possible new investment opportunities.
  • To assist the Team to maintain an oversight of the investment pipeline by tracking potential investment opportunities and to keep the Investments Teams and other key stakeholders informed.
  • To support with the preparation of presentations to the Investment Committees.
  • In time, to transition into providing support as part of the due diligence stage of selected acquisitions, including participation in the selection and monitoring of external advisers, the production of reports etc.
  • To participate in selected site visits and meetings with vendors and advisers.
  • To support the broader Investments Team in relation to continual process improvements in order to ensure that 'best practice' approaches are applied across M&G Real Estate and European acquisition activities.
  • To provide general support to the Team in respect of asset acquisitions.
  • To understand and demonstrate positive behaviours in line with our Attributes and Expectations.
  • To understand the Health and Safety responsibilities appropriate for your role and ensure that they are undertaken in accordance with the relevant Company policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes responsibilities relating to your own H&S and others affected by your actions. Any concerns relating to H&S risks must be escalated to your line Manager and the Company's H&S Manager.
  • To understand the Company's Sustainability vision and apply the Sustainability Strategy as appropriate for your role.


  • A strong academic background. Previous experience working within a financial services background and an interest in real estate.
  • Demonstrable substantial quantitative analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Knowledge of regional and urban economics and/or financial economics.
  • Experience within a property investment role, in a role which uses economic skills and analysis.
  • Fluent in French and English with an additional European language preferable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
