Job Purpose (Job Summary):
Risk manager of the German Company and integral part of the EMEA Independent Risk Function
 

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Be part of the EMEA Independent Risk Function and participate in various aspects of the design and operation of the risk management framework (documentation, development, analysis, validation, implementation, etc.)
  • Be the appointed person responsible for the operations of the risk control function at the level of Invesco Asset Management Deutschland GmbH
  • Ensure appropriate implementation of the Risk Management Framework, Policy and Process (RMP)
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the Risk Management Policy and procedures
  • Maintain oversight of risk measurement arrangements (VaR, back-testing, stress testing, liquidity, scenario analyses) and of the risk monitoring programme in respect to risk limits and risk profiles of the portfolios
  • Assist in carrying out risk reviews of new products and investment strategies or material changes thereto
  • Keep abreast of new trends and regulations on risk management and provide advice on new products and services
  • Participation in client due diligence and other risk-based presentations
  • Responsible for identifying and fulfilling regulatory requirements applicable to the role
  • Promote a positive risk culture
  • Build effective relationships with fund managers/front office through regular engagement around risk appetite, risk limits and significant new trades, and document related meetings
  • Produce and present regular oversight reporting on portfolios to make risk profiles transparent to senior management and the Board
  • Conduct regular due diligence on risk data, analytics and systems sourced internally or externally
  • Review portfolios reports on market, liquidity and counterparty risk analysis, highlighting exceptions to tolerance levels and proposing actions to remediate the issue
     

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Asset Management regulatory framework (at German and European level), in particular with regard to risk management requirements
  • Solid experience within Financial Services; ideally, experience within Risk Management
  • Strong knowledge of financial products (Equities, Fixed income, FX, derivatives) including pricing/valuation methodologies
  • Strong programming skills and experience (VBA, SQL)
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics)
  • FRM/CFA certification or equivalent would be an advantage
