Senior Credit Manager - German speaking

RiverBank S.A. is looking to recruit for its office a very experienced, German speaking Senior Credit Manager. The aim of the credit team is to build a strong performing portfolio of senior and subordinated loans to SME companies in Germany and the Netherlands.

Department Profile

After origination of the credit by the sales department, the credit team will conduct management/advisor calls and meetings, analyse the credit and industry dynamics. Related tasks will include debt capacity assessment and structuring of the optimal loan package, preparing and presenting a credit proposal. The department is accountable for selecting good quality credits and will be responsible for ongoing monitoring of the loan portfolio. Ideal background would include previous experience in Leveraged Finance, Private Debt excecution. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analysis of SME companies and assessment of management
  • Select companies based on pre-defined criteria, personal judgement and overall industry perspective
  • Prepare banking and downside financial case
  • Rate the loan using Moody’s RiskCalc
  • Structure and price the loan, prepare and negotiate term sheet together with the legal department
  • Prepare Credit Proposal and defend the Proposal in the Credit Committee
  • Pro-active portfolio- and relationship management
  • Signal market trends and propose new loan products

Skills required

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role at a bank, private equity or debt fund
  • Knowledge of lending products and local relevant law
  • Strong analytic and report writing skills
  • Sound numerical and modelling skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in German and English
