The holder of this position will help lead the ongoing basis and design of the AGCS IT back-office application and infrastructure landscape in order to deliver an integrated solution and standardized approach. He/she will also be responsible for the analysis, solution generation and documentation of IT processes, systems and technical designs on a global basis. These tasks can be done in line organization work or in projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the overall design, setup and maintenance of the financial application and database by working closely with business stakeholders, IT operations, and external vendors
• Act as lead designer of the functional architecture and, where appropriate, supervise and review the application programming and development
• Coordinate with other areas of the organization to design the functional data model for an integrated landscape
• Complex programming and code development in JAVA, JAVA script and SQL/PLSQL related to system enhancements and/or project deliverables
• Conduct ad-hoc as well as regular analysis of IT systems, documentation, processes, data, etc. as required
• Explore opportunities for new technologies
• Develop and define a wide-range of documentation, e.g. presentations, technical designs, functional specifications, system requirements
• Update the existing documentation on a regular basis by guaranteeing quality and completeness
• Communicate and train on documentation content, keep up-to-date IT design, architectural, policy and specification documentation
• Contribute to the preparation of test cases and work closely with the test managers, analysts and business stakeholders
• Work on the effective design of IT solutions by bringing in the element of technology and architecture for the design solution according to industry best practices
• Perform peer and code reviews and ensure compliance to all standards and guidelines for software programming within the developer team
• Report to IT management on results
• Proactively work and coordinate with relevant stakeholders within IT, the business, strategic vendors or outsource partners to deliver consultancy and service
• Investigate IT procedures, standards and/or guidelines (including AGCS as well as Group IT standards)


Key Requirements / Skills / Experience

Relevant experience
• 7-10 years professional experience within the IT industry, ideally in the financial services sector
• Experience managing tasks and projects in a global environment, especially in an agile mode (preferably SCRUM, Kanban, and SAFe); any experience working in a DevOps environment is also preferable

Education / Certification
• Masters degree in Information Systems, Information Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Fluency in English (verbal and written) is mandatory. Other languages, especially German, would be an advantage

Technical Skills
• Proficiency in JAVA, JAVA script (EXTJs), PLSQL/SQL and classical / in-memory Oracle DB technology
• Solid knowledge of Spring Framework, SVN and Hibernate
• Familiarity of actuarial processes and mathematical models
• Professional experience in IT development environments
• Technical, process and functional knowledge
• Deep knowledge of technical solution design, industry and technology best practices
• Advanced knowledge of SDLC/ITIL
