Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Actuarial Analyst, Modelling.

Principal responsibilities

  • ​Conduct day to day actuarial work for developing and maintaining actuarial models for financial reporting, and other actuarial analytic related issues.
  • Ensure that the modelling and financial reporting work is compliance with the internal controls and risk standards, including modelling guideline, Group Model Risk management frameworks, external and internal Audit.
  • Provide support to Actuarial and Risk Analytics teams, including implementation of new methodology and assumptions and conduct the model development and testing in accordance with Group standards.
  • Provide support on the actuarial items and MI information under various reporting basis, that is Statutory, IFRS and Economic Capital, for various stakeholders, including Risk, Local Business and Group Insurance.
  • Provide solutions and timely response upon request from different parties.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • University graduate in Actuarial Science, Statistics or related discipline
  • Good progress with actuarial examinations
  • Experience in corporate actuarial, Prophet, VBA and other programming skills will be an advantage
  • Excellent presentation, communication, as well as proficient analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese, Mandarin is preferable
