Analyst / Associate, Front Office Developer (Fixed Income and Currencies)


GBIS is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. GBIS provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

The candidate will join the group of feature teams responsible for the build-out and support of Fixed Income and Currencies global solutions. He / she will focus primarily on the Flow business chains, where the group has important business development ambitions in Asia.

His / her main objective will be to improve overall quality of the FIC flow chains, by writing quality code, improving overall user experience and automating processes. A strong emphasis will be put on building a close relationship with the team stakeholders (Sales, Traders, Middle office & Profit and Loss teams), in order to support their day to day needs and grasp how technology can help grow the franchise.


Main Responsibilities

  • You will be part of one of the scrum / devops teams of our technology department. Your team delivers value for business every 2 weeks or faster, while quality keeps improving. You are very motivated by customer satisfaction and enjoy building quality software at the same time
  • We are looking for people who enjoy what they do and enjoy collaboration with teammates and business users. Someone who understands that communication is extremely important and it requires constant attention. We are NOT looking for someone who knows about agile software development, but "is Agile" and knows what we mean with this
  • You are confident enough that you don't have to prove to anyone you are experienced developer. At the same time, humble enough to never stop learning as you will work with various profiles
  • You don't have to be "the best", but you have to do your job as best as you can. Société Générale will provide the means for you to grow

The Role

  • Contribute actively to the build-out of the FIC flow chains
  • Foster proximity and continuous interactions with the trading & sales desks and the teams supporting them
  • Help the team provide great support services to its users
  • Help the team build quality software, tailored to user needs
  • Apply modern development practices such as clean code, refactoring, unit testing and continuous integration


Skills Requirement
  • Strong functional knowledge in Fixed Incomes derivatives products
  • Strong development background and object oriented programming (at least C#)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with business
  • Agile / ATDD
  • Ability to find solutions to challenging, time-critical problems
