Apps Support Sr. Analyst
Background:
  • The Senior Technical Application Support Analyst will provide technical application support for the Delta1 applications. This role is part of the Citi Equity Technology Production Services team, which is responsible for supporting Equity applications and processes used by global Equity Trading business groups, and for facilitating the needs for the end-users
  • The Delta1 applications manage the trading and pricing of Delta One securities
  • The candidate will work closely with Business facing support colleagues, development teams and the Delta1 business desk, to provide application expertise, and to manage the various stability improvement initiatives
  • Having an understanding of Equity securities, specifically Delta One securities would be a great asset
  • The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, well rounded technical knowledge, well organized, proactive attitude, and be comfortable discussing issues with business and technical users at all levels
  • The candidate also needs to possess good multi-tasking skills
  • The successful candidate will be situated in Hong Kong; will work closely with their colleagues in New York, London, Belfast, Pune, and Singapore to ensure seamless 24 x 7 support of our applications
  • The role presents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to join a growing business area. Delta 1 is central to Citi's Equities expansion plans. The support team will work in shifts, to provide coverage between the hours of 7am and 6 pm.This allows the support team to cover to the regional business as part of a follow the sun model. The successful candidate must be willing to participate in the work shift rota.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional Responsibilities:
  • Assist the business support team with Delta1 business inquires and issues
  • Coordinate with other regional support teams, development teams, DBAs, network teams, and end users
  • Work to resolve daily incidents as well as recurring problems
  • Provide tracing and analysis of root causes and tracking of permanent solutions
  • Develop, maintain and enhance monitoring solutions, which requires database/scripting knowledge to create app-tailored monitoring solutions
  • Create and maintain knowledge base to ensure that knowledge are shared
  • Develop automated scripts/sqls for SOD/EOD/Releases checkouts, etc
  • Provide assistance in incidents that impact Delta 1 applications
  • Lead meetings with development teams to manage stability issues and initiatives to meet stability and efficiency goals
  • Coordinate and partner with development teams to manage application releases to maintain stability in the environment


Qualifications

Essential Skills:
  • Application Support Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on working experience in an application production support environment
  • Experience of application release and checkout processes
  • Managing and maintaining of application support knowledge base
  • Experience of managing application stability initiatives
  • Understanding of incident/request/release/problem management processes
  • Knowledge/experience of problem management tools
  • Unix/Linux
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Shell scripting
  • SQL
  • 5+ years of hand-on experience
  • Exposure to KDB would be a great asset
Programming Languages:
  • 5+ years of experience in programming or scripting languages, such as Python/Perl/Java/C/C++
Personal:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under a fast-paced environment and pressure
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with little supervision
Additional Skills (preferable):
