The Product Strategy group within JPMAM provides comprehensive research, thought leadership and competitive differentiation of JPMAM’s investment capabilities to expand distribution and the quality of product coverage representative of our global franchise.
The Project Strategy team’s objectives include:
Driving and supporting JPMAM’s strategic agenda for growth and market-share capture by providing timely competitive intelligence on flows, asset growth, product trends and performance tracking
Delivering product sales ideas that leverage current market events and competitive opportunities
Providing a programmatic approach to the profiling of top opportunities to speed the sales cycle around closing of new business and cross-selling products into existing relationships
The Product Strategy Associate/Vice President will be responsible for developing and executing a platform to effectively drive the product positioning and messaging agenda across all communication mediums. This individual will collaborate with the countries, distribution, marketing, and portfolio managers to provide competitive intelligence and influence decisions. In addition, this individual will partner with Global Strategic Relationship teams (“GSR”) in developing tools that will be utilized in obtaining product placement at key firms.
Develop strategic plan to deliver product intelligence across all communication mediums:
Become subject matter expert on JPMorgan product range, competitor products, and industry trends
Assist Managers to create messaging, communication and sales ideas for JPMAM product line
Utilize expertise to participate in development of asset class campaigns, sales aids, Q&A, product brochures, etc.
Coordinate quarterly Focus Fund performance review across
Partner with Training team to identify sequencing of product training and key product selling points
Partnership with Sales and Countries:
Partner with sales teams in various countries and GSR team in developing analytical tools to provide insight into industry trends as well as competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Participate in all designated sales/country meetings, conference calls etc. Communicate product updates/positioning to train sales personnel via conference calls or formal presentations
Develop in-depth relationships with the sales force in each country. Work with sales to influence product conversations with clients, either through travel in the field or via tailored analysis for specific opportunities
Monitor and identify product placement opportunities with GSR team
Participate in product evolution and rationalization efforts
Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years financial services experience with strong Asian markets exposure, with a significant focus in product management, analysis, and strategy
CFA or CAIA strongly preferred; SFC License to sell or equivalent in local markets
Demonstrated ability to influence and gain senior management buy-in on key initiatives
Strong leadership, influence, analytical, communication, project management and cross-organization collaboration skills required
Fluency in English and Mandarin
Proficiency in Morningstar Direct, eVestment Analytics and Simfund
Quantitative background a plus
