Within Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Broking Services provides full investment services in stocks, bonds, currencies, precious metals, commodities and derivatives to retail, corporate customers and financial intermediaries. As a leading full service broker dealer in Hong Kong, our investment services include advisory, execution, risk and portfolio management, custodianship, and margin financing.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Business Risk Control Management Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Execution of Business Risk and Control Management Operations activities in HSBC Broking Services and its subsidiaries
  • Carry out operating effectiveness testing which involves validating that controls have been executed in full and in line with their design in accordance with the annual control monitoring plan that developed in which key control monitoring activities are set
  • Responsible for supporting Senior Business Risk and Control Management Manager in implementing within HSBC Broking Services, best practice processes to manage all aspects of Operational Risk and Internal Control in line with the Group's Operational Risk and Management Framework
  • Liaising with Group, Regional and Local Risk, Legal and Compliance on Business Risk and Control Management Operations to ensure Operations operate correctly within the boundaries set by these functions
  • Provide effective governance, challenge and reporting of key risks and controls
  • Responsible for ensuring the consistent and effective implementation and performance of operational risk management in the first line of defence
  • Coordinate any control improvement activities, incident or key risk indicator management and report to management of Retail Banking and Wealth Management and HSBC Broking Services

  • Degree holder on undergraduate or post graduate level in Accountancy, Finance or related field
  • Attention to detail combined with strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Strong language, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Persuasive and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
