Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Insurable Risk Manager, Asia Pacific.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assist and support the Regional Head of Insurable Risk Manager and Insurable Risk Managers in respect of all Business entities in Asia Pacific region
  • Assist and support with implementation and maintenance of Insurable Risk Management strategy for Asia Pacific region to reduce the Groups insurable risk exposures to acceptable levels and provide cost effective risk financing to the Group
  • Responsible in providing guidance for the country and Entity administration of the Groups Global programmes such as Crime and Professional Indemnity, Directors and Officers Liability, Pensions Trustee Liability, Property Damage and Business Interruption, General Liability, Personal Accident, Business Travel and other risk global programmes
  • Responsible for providing guidance for the local execution of all other Regulatory insurance programmes such as Employers Liability, Motor and in line with the Insurable Risk Global Standard
  • Support and maintain the Regional Internal relationships with stakeholders such as Regional and Local businesses, Local China representatives connected to Global Functions and Global Businesses
  • Assist, support and maintain the external relationships with Preferred Strategic Brokers and Insurers or partners, and any other local Insurers
  • Assist Asia Pacific businesses with any administration for insurable claims across all insurance classes


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of risk management within financial services organisations, including risk transfer and insurance requirements
  • Previous experience in an insurance company would be an added advantage
  • Experience of working within a global organization across geographic and cultural boundaries
  • Experience of supporting global or regional strategies including significant stakeholder management challenges
  • Strong analysis and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Ability to work well within the team environment
  • Degree in analytical or numerical subject
  • Fluent in English
