Financial Crime Risk is a Global Function that brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assist Regional Head of Investigative Reporting Quality Assurance in overseeing the effective and compliant implementation and sustainable day to day execution of the External Investigative Reporting QA process.
  • Ensure this is in line with standards set by the Global External Investigative Reporting QA Instruction in 21 entities in Asia Pacific
  • Monitoring country External Investigative Reporting quality, prepare Management Information, and escalate appropriately if not in line with standards defined in this Instruction
  • Collecting and ensuring MI from all 21 entities in Asia Pacific are reported to Global External Investigative Reporting QA and other relevant stakeholders in a timely, accurate and complete manner
  • Utilize MI to educate and drive quality improvements in External Investigative Reporting;
  • Assessing a sample of closed External Investigative Reporting cases using External Investigative Reporting processes, procedures and tools as a benchmark
  • Validating evidence submitted for the remediation of fail cases
  • Sharing the result of the QA review to the country stakeholders by providing sharing session, discussing case studies, identifying root cause, and agreeing on action plan

  • Existing Fraud Operations or Investigations or Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge of bank enquiry systems
  • Capable of picking up, and applying, new ideas or concepts quickly
  • Excellent organisation and analytical skills
  • Excellent decision-making and influencing skills
  • A motivated self-starter who has the ability to work effectively alone and under pressure
  • The ability to work accurately and to remain calm and controlled under pressure whilst performing all functions of the role
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Enthusiasm and a positive can do attitude
