As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Manager, Regulatory Affairs and Policy .

Principal responsibilities

  • Support the Regional Head of Regulatory Affairs and Policy based in Hong Kong to execute a structured and consistent Regulatory Affairs and Policy framework to identify, assess, report on and respond to regulatory developments, engagement and policy.
  • Identify material regulatory developments released via established dissemination channels from financial services regulators and regulators' official websites in Hong Kong and support the high level materiality assessment and the dissemination to appropriate Lines of Business or Functions for implementation.
  • Upload and update material regulatory development and regulatory engagements onto relevant trackers and/or databases for example, IRIS, RAPid, Engage
  • Maintain and update catalogue of team and regulatory correspondence and all related documents.
  • Support logistics for functional management team on regulatory engagement matters including fixing of meeting date, room booking, preparation material for regulatory meetings and internal or external presentations.
  • Prepare, coordinate and consolidate data for periodic Management Information reports for Hong Kong, Asia Pacific, and from the Management Information requests from the Global Regulatory Affairs and Policy team.
  • Manage all department administrative functions, including assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and provide logistical support to the Regulatory Affairs and Policy team.
  • Take up ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • University degree holder in a related discipline.
  • Work experience in compliance, risk or regulatory experience.
  • Possess sound analytical, presentation and inter personal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese, Mandarin proficiency an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and write concise and appropriate English written communications.
  • Good working knowledge of financial services regulations and products is an advantage.
