As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Regulatory Compliance Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • ​Proactively provide day to day advice and deal with queries from business on meeting Hong Kong regulatory requirements and standards to assist in the effective management of regulatory risks within HSBC Security Services.
  • Assist in assessing how regulatory change impacts the various HSBC Security Services products and services and ensure appropriate communication and development of appropriate Regulatory Compliance related policy and procedure changes
  • Support management in discharging their responsibilities to comply with applicable regulations by reviewing new products, and activities for regulatory compliance implications, identifying potential rule breaches and enforcing changes to relevant manuals to reflect regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the conduct of crisis management example, adhoc investigations into rule breaches
  • Conduct training to HSBC Security Services staff as appropriate
  • Manage the roll out of communications surveillance across the remaining HSBC Security Services Asia Pacific sites to ensure consistency in coverage and address escalated alerts relating to HSBC Security Services
  • Prepare periodic and adhoc reports and Management Information
  • Support Business offshoring and migration plans
  • Provide advice in relation to adhoc projects such as corporate restructurings and assist with the regulatory approval processes
  • Review and advise on offshoring and delegation arrangements and data transfer requests where these apply to various HSBC Security Services products


Qualifications
Requirements
  • University graduate with a degree in Law, Accounting or related disciplines preferred
  • Experience working in financial services industry
  • Experience in compliance department in financial institutions, regulators like HKMA, SFC, or Audit or Internal Control of financial services will be an advantage
  • A self starter, independent with good organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Good communication, interpersonal, problem solving and writing skills
  • Highly motivated, with ability to work collaboratively within a large organization and to deliver on time
