Functional Overview   
 
Equities Production Services team is a supporting function of Nomura’s equities trading and sales business within Global Markets. It’s a global team spread globally in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Mumbai, London and New York working as one team with “Follow the Sun” model. The team is responsible for 1st and 2nd line support for Prime Finance suite of applications.

 
Job description   
 
•As a member of Equities PS team, work involves day to day support and maintenance of production platform. Support user and client queries which often require in depth analysis of technical/business logic with in applications.
•Troubleshoot and resolve production break/fix issues in a timely manner.
•Perform metrics reporting for senior management.
•Perform start of day application health checks and ensure platform is ready for business. Also monitor production batch processes and send consistent communications to team as well as users.
•Create change management incidents for production break fix and maintenance items.
•In addition to day to day work, a key responsibility of the team is to continuously improve user experience that includes stability of the systems.
•Each team member is expected to analyse current status of production environment, propose improvement plans, agree on priority and execute to completion.

 
Key Experience & Skills   
 
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or relevant experience
•5+ years’ experience in Application Support
•Strong experience of working with Unix / Linux environment and Windows server knowledge
•Experience with job scheduling, Shell and other scripting languages
•Well versed working with relational databases (Oracle / Sybase) and strong knowledge of SQL
•TIBCo middleware and Java experience would be beneficial
•Business knowledge in equity is added advantage.
•Able to work on flexible working arrangements including weekend coverage when required
