This is a newly created position within the Business & Relationship Management Department (BRM) of Fitch Ratings. The successful candidate will develop and build mutually beneficial long term relationships with bankers who are involved in Debt Capital Markets transactions such as rating advisors, DCM / debt syndicate and IBD bankers, as well as country coverage teams. The position will provide tactical marketing and business development advantage to different product groups including corporates, financial institutions, public finance and sovereign.

This role offers the opportunity for candidate to work within an ever-changing and dynamic business environment. Specifically the candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Execute banker marketing strategy in Hong Kong and North Asia
  • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with Chinese banks and securities firms
  • Generate new rating mandate referrals through consistent and targeted marketing activities to relevant bankers
  • Create and maintain database of mandate referral by bank
  • Track and share deal flow information and market intelligence sourced from bankers with BRM colleagues across APAC
  • Liaise with BRM colleagues across APAC to coordinate market interaction and marketing activities
  • Obtain feedback and facilitate communication between bankers and Fitch analytical teams
  • Maintain active e-delivery system with to communicate updated ratings & research to bankers
  • Maintain up-to-date contact lists of bankers
  • Organise banker meetings, teach-in sessions and banker-oriented events as necessary

Qualifications and experience:

  • Detailed understanding of the debt capital markets and experience of international debt financing origination and execution, ideally gained from a DCM or IBD role
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate at a senior level
  • Strong marketing and interpersonal skills are a pre-requisite with a successful track record of developing commercial relationship and opportunities
  • University or advanced degree in economics, finance, accounting, or other relevant finance disciplines
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in investment banking or financial services
  • Trilingual (English, Cantonese and Mandarin) capability required
