Team Overview:

The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) applies technology to analytic solutions for BlackRock’s competitive advantages.  The group plays a critical role in helping portfolio managers, product strategists, CIOs, client facing teams, risk managers and other investment professionals stay current on BlackRock Solutions’ latest risk management tools and analytical capabilities relevant to their business function. An Associate within the Portfolio Analytics Group will take an analytical role in a rapidly growing team in Asia-Pacific, focusing support on internal investment and client teams across the region. The Associate will work with Product Strategy teams to build analytical support for complex new mandates, fundamental investment teams to roll out our research capabilities, Global Fixed Income teams to create analytics supporting their investment decisions, and more.

Job Purpose:

The Portfolio Analytics Group is actively seeking an Associate to partner with investment teams to navigate the Aladdin Platform, develop new analytics, shape logistics for fund launches, and more.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders, including portfolio managers, product strategists and client-facing teams, to take full advantage of Aladdin’s capabilities and improve analytical solutions necessary for more informed decision-making.
  • Explore new technologies to conduct financial analyses on behalf of BlackRock’s investment teams and our external Aladdin clients.
  • Assist investment, sales and product teams in new product and fund launches.
  • Work with risk management teams to build processes that prevent and mitigate operational, platform, and investment risk.
  • Design, build, and coordinate with development and operations teams to enhance Aladdin tools and incorporate new analytics.
  • Lead projects across multiple internal teams and regions to enhance our analytical offering for Asia-Pacific stakeholders.
  • Connect with global counterparts to share local market landscape and trends.
  • Manage and mentor junior members of the analytics team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in financial technology or analytics.
  • Strong critical thinking and experience using technology to solve problems at scale.
  • Outstanding academic achievement, degree in business, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics or other quantitative field of study. CFA/FRM designation or progress towards CFA/FRM designation is desirable.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly.
  • Strong technical and computing skillset
  • Outstanding business achievements and demonstrated strong leadership qualities with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities on complex business problems with detailed understanding of technical issues.
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. Ability to work well as part of a team with minimal supervision. Well organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities proactively.
  • Strong English with Mandarin language skill a plus but not required.
