Position Description

This position is within Front Office reporting in to FICC COO organization. The Front Office development team would work directly with the front office trading desk, risk management team as well as FICC IT. Along with IT team, we combine cutting edge technologies with an agile approach to deliver practical front office risk management tools and client execution solutions, with a view to meeting the demands of an ever expanding business and a broad client base.

We are looking for exceptional performers to join the team in Hong Kong. We adopt a full-stack approach to development, and oversees the business needs. We work in tandem with our counterparties in other regions and in other departments. The successful candidates will be delighted by working in a dynamic, exciting and multicultural environment. They would be intellectually challenged to find creative solutions for problems, improve performance, and reduce operational costs for the business.

 

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Develop new systems or enhance existing systems to meet business requirements
  • Work with Product managers, Trading Desk heads and IT to design and review technical solutions
  • Adopt new technologies and frameworks in projects
  • Support project managers by providing reliable estimates and alerting them of delays or issues as early as possible
  • Follow the processes for version control, continuous integration and release management
  • Keep record and documents on design, support, user manuals and operation procedures
  • Ensure code is covered thorough by unit tests and rigorously tested before deploying to QA or UAT
  • Perform L3 activities – including production support, release and issue management
  • Other tasks related to projects as directed by the manager

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Honor (or equivalent) or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an IT related discipline from a prestigious institution
  • 5-10 years of experience in software development
  • Strong development skills in Java 8, Python and VBA
  • Familiar with Spring framework, SQL databases (Postgre is desirable), and web-based application development
  • At least 2 years of experience of front office systems development in one the below areas:
    - Front Office Risk management tools across FICC products such as Rates,  FX, Bonds, Commodities.
    - Bond pricing & contribution
    - Repo/Bond OMS
    - Intraday Risk and PnL system for FX, Rates or Credit desks
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of automated unit testing frameworks and best practices
  • Experience with Bloomberg/Reuters APIs for market data and reference data
  • Proficiency in Angular framework
  • Familiarity with Agile development artifacts and best practices.
  • Experience with Swagger
  • Ability to mesh requirements-driven tasks and technical debt reduction tasks
  • Very strong attention to details
