Associate / VP, (Trade Migitation Specialist) Electronic Trading IT Support, Asia

The Trade Mitigation Team (TMT) is an Information Technology client facing team in direct contact with external and internal clients (traders, sales, technical support teams, etc) that:

  • Provides functional and technical follow the sun support on Equity Derivatives and Cash Equity markets accessible through the electronic trading applications offered by Société Générale
  • Manages production incidents directly with end clients, technical support teams, vendors and exchanges; Gives effective and regular feedback to end users
  • Formalises end users' day to day problems; assesses the criticality / priority of these problems and treat them accordingly; Escalates to the next level if need be
  • Estimates the risks and opportunities in our day to day job, and take initiatives to reduce the risks and improve our efficiency


Main Responsibilities

Trade Mitigation
  • Resolve client trading issues and answer inquiries in relation to Derivatives and Equity markets, eg. order status, order cancellation and reconciliation of positions
  • Track and document trading related production issues in Société Générale ticketing system
  • Escalate customer complaints and claims to management
Incident & Problem Management
  • Support Société Générale's trading applications (order routing, market data, drop copy)
  • Pro-active monitoring of production systems (connectivity, order rejections)
  • Broadcast client outage notifications (email alerts) and provide regular updates
  • Escalate to other IT groups or vendors as required and follow up until full resolution
  • Take ownership on outstanding production tickets and various customers' enquiries
  • Produce detailed customer Incident reports, reviewed by Management
  • Perform daily handover with other regions (report outstanding issues, changes)
  • Follow ITEC / PRD policies and incident management / escalation procedures
  • Work closely with IT Feature Teams using Agile to deliver user stories as prioritised by the product owner
  • Validate new trading applications front ends (functional tests)
  • Assist traders in the installation / configuration of their trading front end
  • Participate in market rehearsals for exchange migrations or system upgrades
  • Notify customers of upcoming production changes


Key Skills Areas and Knowledge Required

  • Good knowledge on Global Markets activities, especially around Equity and Derivatives
  • Knowledge of major Asian Exchanges (HKFE, JPX, SFE, SGX, etc) / Trading rules
  • Exposure to one or more of the following trading platforms, eg. Fidessa, Trading Technologies, CQG, etc
  • Good understanding of order life cycle, order types, market data and trade flow
  • Basic understanding of the FIX protocol (4.2 or above)
  • ITIL processes
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Financial markets (securities and / or derivatives markets)
  • Previous experience as broker / trader (dealer) or application support role of Front Office trading systems.
