Job Description
The Business Manager is a management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a professional team or department. The team drives the overall administrative activities of the business. These tasks may include managing external audits, business continuity activities or addressing regulatory issues. The Business Manager coordinates and manages activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs as necessary. Manages ad hoc projects as needed. This role is to support the Investment and Corporate Banking Heads for the Financial Institutions coverage franchise reporting to the regional COO's office of Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (BCMA).
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with local and regional business management team to ensure alignment of business goals
  • Assist leadership and stakeholders with developing projects, determining strategies, and defining/providing metrics and drive implementation of business-driven projects across functions, working closely with relevant senior leadership
  • Seek out sources, track, consolidate and analyze ad-hoc and regular business requests
  • Drive Innovation in work processes. Provide input into, recommend and drive automation, digitization, technology change, process improvements and control framework enhancements
  • Communicate business knowledge, product knowledge, and requirements to business and internal support functions
  • Drive coordination across the ICG platform, including client initiatives, banker trainings, promoting cross-sell, and other opportunities for collaboration with aim to ensure maximum efficiency throughout the various initiatives and projects
  • Lead and support Franchise Heads in strategic and pivotal initiatives, including in business development and client initiatives
  • Manage and supervise operational BAU activities such as client reporting and strategy, people strategy, deal management, monthly business reviews, client events, senior executive visits, deal pitching initiatives, revenue and wallet analysis, pipeline reviews and business communications, locally, regionally and globally
  • Responsible for all annual deliverables such as franchise reviews, VoE/VoC surveys, revenue plan targets, year-end scorecards, talent reviews and client prioritization in coordination with countries and cross-functional business partners.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
  • Manage a team or working group by providing technical knowledge, coaching, evaluation, determining hiring etc
Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of experience in financial markets business or business support in other similar businesses
  • Knowledge of Banks and/or NBFIs business model is advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, high sensitivity to figures, accuracy and attention to details
  • Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office product suite; basic macro coding experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred
  • Passionate about the role and willing to work outside normal office hours
  • Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and work under deadline pressures
  • Team spirit with strong sense of commitment to all team members, comfortable working across various departments, regions and divisions
  • Able to treat information in the strictest confidence
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
