Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Business Manager, Chief Operating Office.

Principal responsibilities

  • Oversight of Asset Management Hong Kong business engagement models, service providers and the contractual arrangements
  • Assist the business in defining new business engagement models and ensure proper documentation and sustainable controls are in place.
  • Provide an oversight over existing agreements including leading the governance forum, coordination of regular reviews, MIs to monitor KPIs, actions to address any gaps and issues, own the repository.
  • Lead the embedding of group's corporate governance framework in Asset Management Hong Kong on an ongoing basis, including oversight and liaison with in country as well as global counterparts.
  • Provide support to senior management by leading Service Provider Oversight Committee, China Cross border Strategy Working Group and Front Office Management Committee in the capacity of secretary and responsible for coordination of meeting pack, capturing accurate meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of business continuity planning for Asset Management Hong Kong. This includes Ensure delivery of annual BCP reporting requirements including the testing of plans.
  • Liaison with counterparts in Asset Management Global Asia Pacific, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, India office for the above areas to ensure similar controls and effective oversight is in place.

  • Broad knowledge of the diverse asset management markets in Asia Pacific.
  • Ability to lead the strategic initiatives and provide effective support and guidance to the senior management.
  • Expertise in operational risk and business change and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, and ability to generate insights from analysis.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Quick learner and flexible.
  • Strong knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Excel Visio knowledge is a plus
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin or Cantonese will be considered as a plus
