A fundamental equity fund based in Hong Kong with an excellent track record is looking to strengthen its team with the addition of a COO in anticipation of a growth acceleration. This is a flexible role with great development potential in an entrepreneurial and multi-cultural environment. This position would be ideal for someone having a strong interest in business development.

Responsibilities

  • Client service, marketing and fundraising (50-70% of time spent)
    • Maintain and develop a database of prospective investors and lead marketing and fundraising effort
    • Actively engage with targeted potential investors to increase assets under management
    • Identify and manage relationships with a limited number of distributors
    • Manage investors relations, including subscription and redemption of funds
    • Develop and execute business development strategy
  • Process optimization and management of service providers (20-30%)
    • Liaise with external parties including banks, brokers, custodians, administrators, auditors and other service providers
    • Optimize internal systems and processes and update operating manuals
    • Ensure the operating procedures comply with regulatory and company requirements
    • Perform data analysis
  • Daily operations (10-20%)
    • Assume responsibility for daily trade settlement (limited active trading) and monthly NAV reconciliation
    • Participate in weekly investment committee

 

Qualification

  • 5 to 10 years fund management, investor relations and/or operations experience in a buy-side firm, ideally in a similar position covering both operational and fundraising responsibilities
  • Previous experience as a research analyst in a public equity investment firm would be valuable
  • Knowledge of trade settlement, cash and valuation reconciliation as well as compliance check and internal control preferable
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, good with numbers, high level of attention to details and data accuracy
  • Inquisitive with a critical mindset, independent and self-motivated
  • Fluency in English mandatory
