  • Primary Responsibility for writing Credit Approval memos, collateral analysis and loan underwriting for Private Equity financing transactions
  • Primary Responsibility for quarterly collateral and covenant monitoring on existing portfolio
  • Assisting PE Transactors in Coordination / Preparation of Green light memos and returns computations (as applicable)
  • Assisting PE Transactors in the sales of Subscription Line Lending Products to Private Equity clients, including client calling and account planning, in partnership with PE focused Private Bankers
  • Assisting PE Transactors in preparing and negotiating term sheets
  • Preparing Deal Closing Memos and undertaking the annual review of transactions with Risk Management, as required, for PE lending facilities
  • Responsible for appropriate transaction structuring and execution (within the PECC product program) with appropriate risk and return characteristics, ensuring appropriate Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standard compliance
  • Negotiating credit documentation for facilities, including liaison with internal and external counsel as required - driving deals to closing in partnership with the Transactors
  • Assisting in early problem recognition processes including proposing, when deemed appropriate, credit classification and appropriate risk rating on specific transactions/ relationships
  • Participation in remedial management actions together with SARG as required
  • In summary this is a demanding role for which a strong mix of deal management, credit and process skills is crucial.  It requires an ability to influence stakeholders, including bankers, clients, Risk, auditors or other areas of the Bank, to deliver against timelines and to ensure processes meet the Bank's highest standards.


  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in Mandarin / Cantonese is an added advantage
  • Strong Financial and cash flow modelling skills
  • Strong and proven analytical, credit structuring and execution skills
  • 6-8 years' experience preferably in a Markets, Credit or Risk-related role covering North Asia markets
  • Some marketing skills, balanced with strong credit skills (aspiring to be a full blown Transactor in 2-3 years)
  • Prior experience from the PE and Financial Sponsor sector desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Citibank's Credit Policies desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Strong initiative and interactive approach to problem solving
  • Displays flexibility and independence in a demanding environment
