Team Head, China Coverage (Southern China)
Overview
Our client is a well-established regional bank with a growing corporate banking platform in Hong Kong. The bank is seeking an experienced banking professional to lead its China Coverage team, focusing on South China headquartered corporates and large enterprise groups with cross-border financing needs.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving business development, managing key client relationships, and delivering a full suite of banking solutions including corporate lending, syndicated finance, transaction banking, treasury, and trade finance products.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of South China-based corporate clients.
• Originate and deepen relationships with large corporates, privately owned enterprises, and listed companies with cross-border banking requirements.
• Develop and execute client acquisition strategies to achieve revenue and asset growth targets.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders, including CFOs, Treasurers, and business owners.
• Structure and originate bilateral and club loan opportunities.
• Prepare credit proposals and work closely with risk management teams to obtain approvals.
• Lead, coach, and develop relationship managers within the China Coverage team.
• Establish business plans and performance objectives aligned with the bank's strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Degree holder in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 10-15 years of corporate banking experience, with significant exposure to Southern China corporate coverage.
• Strong network among South China corporates and business groups.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing relationship managers or coverage teams.
• Strong credit analysis and deal structuring capabilities.
• Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
