Department Description

The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and our global and local regulators. The Audit Department is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environment across the firm's line of business. This is achieved through a program of audit coverage which is performed and managed by a team of financial business and integrated technology specialists. The Wealth Management Audit team provides coverage of the Asia Wealth Management business.

Position Description:

The Wealth Management (WM) Auditor position is based either in Hong Kong or Singapore reporting to the WM Audit Director. This role will be responsible for audit coverage of the Asia WM business. This position is responsible for assisting with audit project management, audit execution, and relationship management for key business functions and groups within WM.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in audit engagements covering Wealth Management including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, audit report drafting and follow-up and verification of issue closure.
  • Document audit results and communicate issues to management, identifying opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of key controls.
  • Will be accountable for meeting deliverables, adhering to department and professional standards and utilizing consistent methodology.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders, establishing a culture of engagement while adding value.
  • Effectively manage audit engagement teams, performing timely review and providing honest and constructive feedback.
  • Liaise with global and regional Audit management.
  • Stay up to date with the global regulatory and market environment, especially as it pertains to Wealth Management and its supporting technology.
  • Provide regulatory responses and perform regulatory required reviews.
  • Build effective contacts and relationships with client management and colleagues through effective teamwork and innovating thinking.
  • Disseminate best practice and lessons learned to colleagues and clients.
  • Identify and follow up on specific audit issues and ensure appropriate involvement with significant development efforts or projects.
  • Limited travel is required.
Requirements:

The applicant must be an experienced professional who possesses strong auditing skills, good knowledge of the private banking/wealth management business, financial instruments and products, and a strong understanding of internal control systems within a financial institution.

  • Minimum bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline
  • 5+ years of working experience with some exposure to Asset Management/Wealth Management and the financial services industry including related processes/controls.
  • A working experience covering fiduciary activities in financial services industry, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialists (CFIRS) will be a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of products and services provided within a Wealth Management business including investment management and wealth advisory services, brokerage, and banking
  • A good understanding of applicable laws and regulatory requirements (e.g. OCC 12 CFR 9)
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, desire to learn quickly and think strategically
  • Proven ability to be flexible, adaptable to dynamically changing work environments and multi-task
  • Works well individually, and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and encourages participation
  • Strong skills in time management, problem solving, written and oral communication
