We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Digital Sub Editor.

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead User Experience and Design as well as the wider Digital teams by creating clear, elegant English, occasional local language, with suitable communication for international audiences from a variety of backgrounds, for all devices supported by the global operation.
  • Support production of high quality, accurate, long and short form copy, marketing and service related digital messaging in multiple channels.
  • Optimise and reconfigure existing internal and external communications to adhere to User Experience best practice.
  • Work in a facilitative manner to build capability in progressing objectives, whilst retaining sight of profitability and productivity outcomes.
  • Conduct regular reviews to identify key risks, issues and interdependencies. Determine and apply appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure an equal and balanced focus is maintained on operating and regulatory risks and ensure the Virtual Management Team positively identifies and mitigates these in a manner that protects the Brand.
  • Ensure regular and positive engagement with key support functions such as Risk, Compliance and Human Resources to ensure alignment of policies and plans necessary to deliver a demanding transformation benefit target.
  • Implementation of Global Standards, Financial Crime Compliance and Risk considerations in an aligned manner within the context of the Retail Banking and Wealth Management strategy through operational practice and planned activity.
  • Communicate plans with key stakeholders.
  • Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
  • Act in a manner that transparently promotes our values and delivers in an aligned manner.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • English copywriting qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • People experience in customer focused organizations.
  • Previous exposure to digital, design or product management.
  • Leadership ability to motivate and inspire others to excel.
  • Experience in practical application of User Centred Design methodology.
  • Demonstrated expert in multi-channel best practice content creation for web, print, mobile, or tablet.
  • Subject matter expert of channel, including technical, commercial, marketplace and customer considerations.
  • Previous use of Prototyping tools, basic Photoshop skills and word processing software.
  • Innovative approach to achieve goals.
  • Proven ability to convey complex technical issues in a simple manner.
  • Sensitive to multiple stakeholder opinions and priorities.
  • Time management and prioritisation of projects and tasks.
  • Experience working with agencies, particularly for usability testing.
