The Director – Operational Risk will provide leadership and direction to develop, implement and maintain effective risk governance and management practices and will oversee operational risk mitigation activities. The incumbent will develop close partnerships and provide valuable collaboration with business and functional leaders to ensure that key risks are properly identified, managed and mitigated promoting a disciplined approach to operational risk within the pension business. The jobholder will facilitate and/or lead identification, assessment and reporting on Risk Control Self Assessments and provide second line defense oversight of the Operational Risk program including operational risk policies/standards, procedures, strategies, material risks, risk reporting routines and metrics.
The successful candidate will be a degree holder with at least 5 years’ experience of related risk management experienced gained in the asset management industry. Candidates from insurance, banking or consulting firms may also be considered. Applicants will need demonstrated Operational Risk knowledge (including tools used to manage Operational Risk Frameworks), strong analytical skills, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines to will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
