Our client, a reputable European Private Bank, is looking for a Credit Advisor at Director level in order to cope with the business expansion in YR 2018.


  • Assist front line staffs with general information regarding the credit offering of the bank.
  • Assist front line staffs with initial calculation of the banks's collateral value for potential clients and determination of the required process (process for structured transactions vs process for standard Lombard)
  • Advise front line staffs on feasibility of credit inquires with special issues (special Lombard, International Mortgages, Insurance Lending, complex derivatives trading, etc.) and provide advisory on how transactions can be structured to fit the bank's risk parameters;
  • Liaise with collateral risk management team on irregularities with respect to standard LTVs of specific counters.
  • Drafting of credit analysis paper for structured transactions (special Lombard) outlining the relevant decision factors, including description of the proposed credit structure, accurate risk assessment and any potential collateral issues. The initial analysis will then be reviewed by the relevant functional and regulatory decision bodies;
  • In co-ordination with the relevant booking platform, provide RMs and Assistants with credit documentation and verify proper execution of documentation upon return before documentation is sent on for processing.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of awareness about the potential credit issues and work towards resolving such issues (intergrity of credit transaction and clients, risk taking parameters, etc)
  • Review daily credit violation report, monitor margin call accounts as well as effectively managing such margin calls
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews
  • Liaise with RMs with a view to ensure a good quality of information provide for a credit request with respect to the background and goals of the transactions and the involved clients. Ensure comprehensive compilation of decision relevant facts related to major projects.
  • Taking responsibility for on-going training of front staff with respect to the overall credit offering including coaching/ training of new employees.


  • University graduated in Business Administration, Finance or relevant disciplines; CFA or CAIA is preferable.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in credit with exposures in insurance financing and mortgage financing, preferably in private banking.
  • Sound knowledge in using Avaloq and Bloomberg is desirable.
  • Solid analytical capacity and risk awareness.
  • Negotiation skills, attention to details, adaptability as well as problem- solving skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin)
